Ramon Reyes charged in connection with the homicide of Rosemary Tapia-Bautista and injring a second woman in the Bronx

NYPD responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing incident near Park Avenue and East 161st Street on April 6th at approximately 7:00am.

When officers arrived at the scene, they learned that Rosemary Tapia-Bautista, 57, had been stabbed several times in the chest, and a 40-year-old woman had sustained multiple stab wounds to her body.

Both victims were taken by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where Rosemary was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 40-year-old woman is currently in stable condition.

The attacker, Ramon Reyes, 47, was arrested on April 7th and is facing charges of first and second-degree murder, attempted murder, burglary, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to ABCNY, the 40-year-old woman was the ex-girlfriend of Reyes, and Tapia-Bautista was her mother.
