Update: Brian Dowling charged with murder – Ryan Carson fatally stabbed in Brooklyn

NYPD responded to a report of a stabbing at Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard on October 2nd at 3:53 a.m.

On arrival police located 31-year-old Ryan Carson at the scene suffering from multiple stab wounds to his chest. He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he was pronounced deceased.

According to reports Carson was standing on the street with his girlfriend on the way home from a wedding, when the suspect approached and said, “What are you looking at?” before stabbing Carson. 

So far no arrests have been made. Chief Kenny said even as Carson laid dying, authorities said, the perpetrator spit at the victim’s girlfriend and threatened to stab her as well. He ultimately fled the scene. “An unidentified female then arrives on the scene and begins to apologize to the couple, and she mutters the name Brian,” Chief Kenny said.

Update 18-year-old Brian Dowling, was arrested on Thursday, at a home on Lafayette Avenue near Malcolm X Boulevard. He has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal weapons possession.
