NYPD responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck near 1210 Loring Ave. on January 11th at around 7:31 p.m.
On arrival, located 24-year-old Shakira Serrano suffering from severe trauma to the head and body. She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
According to reports Serrano was arguing with another woman in a parking lot. When Serrano fell to the ground, the other woman ran her over with her 2008 Mercury.
The relationship between the two women is not known, and no arrests had been made by Friday afternoon.
Update: Naomi Broomes, 33, was arrested on February 21st for allegedly running over her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend Shakira Serrano.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said Serrano started fighting with her ex-boyfriend and fell to the ground. Broomes then ran over Serrano.
She has been charged with murder and leaving the scene of an accident.
