Police were called to the report of a suicide at 493 Jersey St. near Stanley Ave. in St. George on January 18th at approximately 8:20am.

On arrival police located Justin Gaston, 37, unclothed from the waist down, sitting in the bathtub, with a stab wound to his sternum and a knife in his hand. Police noted that the suiside was suspicious and was staged.

The victim’s roommate Raiquan Becheam was taken in for questioning where he confessed to the murder. Becheam allegedly killed Gaston over a dispute about the washroom, and then posed him in the tub.

According to reports the paid had only been living in the apartment for a few weeks prior to the killing. The apartment was being used as a temporary shelter for the homeless.

Becheam, 27, has been charged by police with murder and possession of a weapon.
