According to law enforcement and the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, the fatal incident occurred on February 27, 2025.
Tyree Epps allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of Van Sinderen and Blake Avenues and collided with a school bus on Blake Avenue.
The crash was so intense that his passenger, 26-year-old Imani Vance, was thrown into the windshield. The impact also caused the bus to hit a third vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time.
On April 9, Tyree Epps was formally charged with several serious offenses, including second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, second-degree assault, speeding, unlicensed driving, failing to obey stop signs, and leaving the scene of a crash without reporting it.
