Police were called to the report of a stabbing at 889 Rockaway Avenue on June 9th at approximately 8:59pm.

Police arrived to find 19-year-old Vernon Douglas unconscious and unresponsive outside of the location suffering from stabbing injuries. Douglas was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Vernon Douglas, was charged earlier this year with hate crimes for allegedly attacking and robbing three men in separate incidents between April 3 and April 12. 

No arrests have been made at this time.
