Ying Zhu Liu, fatally shot after trying to intervene in a Manhattan robbery

NYPD were called to the report of a shooting at 44 Market St. at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sept. 9th.

Police arrived to find Ying Zhu Liu, 57, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to her face. She died of her injuries.

Police said Lui’s son buzzed up his father who was followed into the building by the suspects. The suspect began to rob the man in the 8th-floor hallway. When Liu left her apartment with her son she was then shot by the gunman.

The suspects are described as wearing a black and red hooded jacket, white sneakers, dark pants and black ski mask. The second was described as wearing a black hooded coat, black ski mask, black pants and black and white sneakers.
