NYPD Transit District 3, responded to reports about a crime in progress, on the northbound platform, at approximately 3:00pm on July 9th.
On arrival police and paramedics located 14-year-old Ethan Reyes suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Police believe the victim and the assailant were known to each other. A knife and a broomstick were recovered from the scene.
Investigators arrested one of the males at West 173rd Street and Broadway where he was taken into custody. Police said the suspect was bleeding from his back and abdomen and was taken to hospital to be treated for wounds in his left hip area.
Update, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on July 10th, and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. His identity will not be released.
