23-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest during a dispute near the Apollo Theater

NYPD were called to West 125th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard on February 1st at approimately 4:00pm on the report of a shooting.

On arrival police and paramedics locatefd a 23-year-old man with gun shot wounds to the chest. The victim was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police have not established a motive for the shooting, however, investigators said a bag of marijuana was found at the scene and it could have been a drug deal gone wrong. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The suspect has been described as as wearing a black bubble jacket with brown fur, black sweat pants and blue and white sneakers. He fled the scene on foot, heading east on 125th Street.
