NYPD responded to a shooting on Monday July 6th after an armed suspect allegedly attacked a 46-year-old man outside a liquor store.

According to NYPD, the victim was standing with several other people near the corner of White Plains Road and Archer Street at around 8:12 p.m. when a man wearing a long blue raincoat approached. Investigators say the suspect struck the victim in the head with a handgun before firing a single shot at close range.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. Police continue to search for the suspect as the investigation remains ongoing.
