NYPD responded to a report of an assault in progress at Wash and Fold Super Laundry on North Conduit Avenue on February 13th. Investigators say an argument that began inside the business spilled outside, where the shooting occurred.

Dominick Lowery, who had worked at the laundromat, was found with a gunshot wound to the head. According to reports, several bystanders, including nursing students nearby, attempted to help and perform CPR before first responders arrived.

Lowery was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition but later died.

Police are now working to determine whether Lowery and the shooter knew each other and what led to the dispute.
