Police and paramedic were called to the report of a shooting in the East Village on May 16th at approximately 11:15pm.

On arrival medics located Brandon Atkinson, 39, unconscious in the crosswalk. Police said Atkinson had been shot in the head, on Avenue D at E. Third St. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made.
