Brooklyn Man Fatally Shot After Text Message Exchange

NYPD responded to a 911 call just before 3 a.m. on June 29, arriving at the intersection of Riverdale Avenue and Osborn Street.

There, they found a 34-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his right arm.

According to AMNY, the victim had been texting with someone before the shooting and agreed to meet them at the Riverdale Avenue location. A female friend reportedly drove him there and dropped him off. Moments later, she told police, an unknown man appeared and shot the victim.

The victim was transported to Brookdale University Hospital by EMS, but he sadly did not survive. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.

Authorities say the suspect was last seen wearing a gray hoodie. The investigation is ongoing.
