Drill Rapper Fatally Shot Outside Bronx Parole Office

John Martinez, 27, also known as drill rapper Suave Drilly, was shot and killed on October 15 near Alexander Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard in the Bronx, police said.

Martinez had just left the Division of Parole office when multiple masked suspects opened fire, striking him in the torso. Parole officers provided aid and called police while trying to hold back a crowd. EMS performed chest compressions before rushing him to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Martinez was previously indicted in 2022 in connection to several Bronx shootings and had served time for attempted gang assault. He was released on parole in January 2024. The suspects fled east on East 132nd Street. The investigation is ongoing.
