East New York Man, 40, Fatally Shot in Broad Daylight; Police Hunt Ski-Masked Suspect

NYPD officers are investigating a deadly daytime shooting in East New York on March 30th at approximately 9:30am.

Police said a 40-year-old man was shot in the torso and right leg outside a home at 410 Wortman Avenue near Ashford Street.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital, but he was pronounced dead. Police have not released his identity, pending family notification.

Authorities say the motive for the shooting is unknown. No arrests have been made, but detectives are searching for a suspect seen fleeing the scene wearing a ski mask, blue hoodie, gray jeans, and multi-colored sneakers.
