A 40-year-old woman found unresponsive inside a Brooklyn apartment earlier this month has died in what authorities have now determined was a homicide.
Police identified the woman as Erika Miranda Tlacuatl, 40, of Brooklyn.
At approximately 3:42 a.m. on August 1, officers responded to a 911 call requesting assistance at an apartment on 64th Street in the Borough Park neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found Tlacuatl unconscious and unresponsive inside the apartment. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later determined that Tlacuatl’s death was a homicide, police said Thursday.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details about how Tlacuatl died or whether any suspects have been identified.
