NYPD were called to a report of a stabbing at 711B Seagirt Ave. in Queens on January 22nd at approximately 11:40pm.

On arrival police located 33-year-old Jessica Britt in the lobby, suffering from several stab wounds. Britt was rushed to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Evelyn Cruz, who lives in the building, was arrested at the scene and later charged murder and weapon possession. Police said both women live in the building, and it is unclear what they were fighting about.
