NYPD responded to a shooting at a basketball court at Martin Luther King Jr. Houses at 70 Lenox Ave, on July 10th at approximately 10:25 p.m.
On arrival police located a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital where he died of his injuries. He has been identified by The Daily News as European basketball player Kinu Rochford.
Police said two other people were also injured in the shooting. A 28-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the shin, while a 22-year-old woman was struck in the right forearm. Both were taken to Harlem Hospital by EMS and were reported to be in stable condition.
