Police allege a long-running dispute over the ownership of a Bronx home ended in a deadly family shooting that claimed the life of 39-year-old Julia Anderson.
Police say officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Murdock Avenue home shortly before 11:40 p.m. and found Anderson suffering from gunshot wounds to her chest, abdomen, and arm.
According to investigators, Anderson had just finished her shift at a nearby group home for people with disabilities and returned to the residence she shared with her uncle, 58-year-old Michael Foster, on the night of July 13.
As she sat in her Jeep preparing to leave, Foster allegedly fired multiple shots through the vehicle’s windshield, striking her several times. Anderson fell from the vehicle after being shot and was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Following the investigation, Foster was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and 10 counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
