Two women were found stabbed to death Saturday evening inside a Park Slope apartment building in Brooklyn, according to police. Officers responded around 8 p.m. to a 911 call reporting an assault at the residence and discovered a 59-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman both unconscious with multiple stab wounds. EMS pronounced both victims dead at the scene.
Investigators later identified the victims as a mother and daughter and believe the younger woman fatally stabbed her mother before taking her own life in an apparent murder-suicide. No arrests were made.
The building has previously been the site of a deadly incident, and police noted it is now part of a broader investigation into a recent spike in violent stabbings across Brooklyn. Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the case.
