NYPD responded to a 911 report of a foot sticking out of a bin on February 25th at approximately 155:pm.

Police said Nisaa Walcott, 35, in the container left across the street from 950 University Ave. in Melrose, and called it a known local dumping ground. Walcott was reported missing earlier in the week.

Walcott was pronouced deceased at the scene. Her body was transferred to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

The victim’s cousin, Khalid Barrow, 21, of The Bronx, has been charged with her murder and  concealing a human remains.

Update
Khalid Barrow, 23, was convicted of murder, concealment of a human corpse, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property on Nov. 29 in connection to the murder of his cousin, Nisaa Walcott.

Update: On December 20th 2023, Khalid Barrow was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
