NYPD have detained a 43-year-old woman as a person of interest after a violent incident in a Brooklyn apartment left one senior dead and another injured

Officers responded to a call at a residence on Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights just before 10:30 p.m. on March 21st. Police said a 72-year-old woman, suffering from stab wounds to her arm and torso, had managed to escape the apartment and seek help in a nearby building, where she contacted emergency services.

According to sources, the injured woman told police that her roommate had suddenly become violent, attacking both her and another elderly resident. When emergency responders entered the locked apartment, they discovered a 74-year-old woman with severe stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital but later died. The suspect was found inside the apartment, and authorities believe scissors were used in the attack.

While no charges have been officially announced, the suspect is reportedly related to the deceased.
