NYPD were called to 330 Bushwick Ave, at approximately 9:38 a.m. on February 1st, after workers told officers they came across body parts in the trash area near a garbage chute.
On arrival, Police located the body of a woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Monday, the NYPD identified the woman as Michelle Montgomery, 39, who lived on Hoyt Street in Brooklyn. The city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
Update: Detectives now believe her death was a tragic accident, and that Montgomery fell down the garbage chute.
