NYPD responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at a residence on 157th Street in Jamaica on the afternoon of December 29th.

When officers arrived, they found a 15-month-old Charlie Ramraykha unconscious, along with his 28-year-old mother, who was injured.

Both the child and the mother were taken to Jamaica Hospital. Charlie was pronounced dead, while his mother was listed in stable condition. Police said the child did not show visible signs of blunt force trauma during the initial examination.

Nicole Boodhai, 28, has since been charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child. The investigation remains ongoing.
