NYPD were called to a shooting in the area of 109th Avenue and 120th Street in South Ozone Park on August 1st at approximately 9:20am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Sydney Lugo, 24, in front of her home, suffering from a gunshot wound to her left arm. She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where she died of her injuries.

According to reports Lugo and her temporary roommate, a homeless man, Tariak Stykes, 34, were in an argument that escalated and resulted in her death. Stykes has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
