NYC 2026 Homicide Victim List

NYPD were called to the report of a shooting at an apartment at 2957 Avenue X in the Sheepshead Houses complex in Sheepshead Bay, shortly before 6 p.m. on March 23rd.

On arrival, the police located a 16-year-old boy unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/South Brooklyn, where he was later pronounced deceased. He has been identified as Ka’mardre Coleman.

According to CBS News, Attorneys on both sides agree the shooting was accidental, stemming from a group of four teenagers handling a gun, passing it around, and repeatedly loading and unloading it for fun.

Prosecutors allege the weapon belonged to the suspect, who attempted to help his injured friend but ultimately fled when those efforts failed.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld due to his age, now faces charges of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Law enforcement sources say the mother of the 16-year-old accused of manslaughter in this week’s fatal shooting of a Brooklyn high school football player is a member of the NYPD.
