NYPD were called to an apartment building on Newport Street near Thatford Avenue on October 3rd at approximately 5:00pm.

On arrival, police and paramedics located 1-year-old Anthony Casey unresponsive. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The medical examiner determined he had sustained blunt force trauma injuries consistent with a significant impact.

Police announced on October 6th that his death is being investigated as a Homicide.

So far, no arrests or charges have been laid.
