NYPD said a 24-year-old woman and 27-year-old man were loctaed suffering from serious injuries in an apartment unit on Arthur Avenue and East 180th Street, on February 24th at approximate;y 7:00am.

The female victim was suffering frrom a slashed throat accoring to reports, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man was aslo suffering from throat injuries, however, he was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he remains in stable condition, and is currently in police custody with charges pending.

The relationship between the victim and the accused has not been released at this time.

Police seized a box cutter at the scene.

Update February 26th
Israel Flores, 27, allegedly attacked Denise Caamano, 24, with a box cutter early Thursday inside a bedroom in the apartment, before attempting to take his own life.

Flores was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
