A 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting outside an apartment building in the Bronx on the evening of June 22, according to police.
NYPD said the incident happened just before 7 p.m. outside 413 East 187th Street. Investigators say surveillance footage shows a suspect dressed entirely in black walking along the street moments before the shooting, appearing to follow the victim.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting that a man had been shot on the sidewalk. When officers arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head and immediately began lifesaving efforts until emergency medical personnel took over.
The victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his name as they continue to notify family members.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and has not been arrested. Detectives are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting.
