A 29-year-old man died after being shot in the Bronx on September 19, according to police.

The NYPD said officers responded to a report of a person being shot near Cruger Avenue and Magenta Street at approximately 9:19 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found Jason Ferrer suffering from two gunshot wounds to his torso.

Emergency medical crews rushed Ferrer to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition. Despite efforts to save him, Ferrer was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
