NYPD were called to a shooting at around 9:45 a.m. on Christmas eve, at the intersection of Powell Street and Belmont Avenue.

Officers arriving at the scene found a 46-year-old man who had been shot in the chest. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are searching for a suspect described as a Black man wearing a yellow and black hoodie. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
