NYPD responded to an assault in front of Marco’s cocktail bar at 1071 Broadway in Bushwick on April 26th at approximately 2:00am.
On arrival police located a 26-year-old man with a stab wound to his abdomen and a deep cut across his face, while a 28-year-old man had a laceration to his left arm.
Paramedics transported both victims to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where the younger man, identified by police as Amare Simmons of East 30th Street in Manhattan, was later pronounced dead. The victim’s address is listed as a men’s homeless shelter.
Investigators said they took two people of interest into custody. No charges have been laid at this time.
