Brooklyn detectives are investigating the fatal beating of a 42-year-old man outside his East Williamsburg home early Friday morning.
Police said officers responded to an assault call around 3:45 a.m. on Sept. 4 near an apartment building on Grattan Street. They found Florencio Ramos Martinez unconscious on the sidewalk after an apparent physical altercation.
According to preliminary information, Martinez may have been punched during an argument, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the confrontation remain unclear, and police have not released a description of the suspect. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
