Harlem Shooting Leaves One Dead, Suspect Still at Large

NYPD said a man was fatally shot just before 5 p.m. on July 14 outside 235 Lenox Avenue, also known as Malcolm X Boulevard.

Officers from the 28th Precinct responded to a 911 call and discovered the victim, whose identity has not yet been released, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and back.

Authorities say the victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in a private vehicle, where he was later pronounced dead. The city’s medical examiner will confirm the official cause of death.

As of early Tuesday, no arrests had been made, and the motive remains unclear.

Police are currently searching for a suspect described as a man with a dark complexion. He was last seen on West 122nd Street wearing a white T-shirt, white bandana, blue jeans, and a tan fanny pack. The investigation is ongoing.
