NYPD said her ex-boyfriend Tiliek Shamel Thompson, 41, has turned himself in to Manhattan police for questioning regarding the death of 27-year-old Lovay Williams.
Williams was found beaten to death in her Washington Heights apartment on West 156th Street on September 5th, 2026, during a police wellness check. Her young daughter was discovered inside the home unharmed.
Police currently consider Thompson a person of interest in what is suspected to be an instance of domestic violence. While online posts have accused Thompson of the crime, his attorney urged the public to withhold judgment, noting that the facts are not yet fully established. Meanwhile, Williams’ family is caring for her daughter and seeking justice for her murder.
