NYPD were called to the 34th Street and 8th Avenue station just before 7 p.m. on March 14, after reports of a man lying motionless on a Midtown subway platform.
On arrival Officers located a 55-year-old Brooklyn man unconscious on the northbound C and E platform.
Paramedics rushed him to Lenox Hill Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Acording to AMNY, the victim may have been assaulted shortly before. He was reportedly punched in the face but initially appeared unharmed, and was seen walking on the platform and using his phone before suddenly losing consciousness.
No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
