NYPD has announced that they are investigating a shooting murder suicide that occurred at a ground-floor apartment at 2500 Johnson Ave, on January 22nd at approximately 8:00am.
Police arrived to find the suspected shooter, a 55-year-old man, in a hallway suffering from a gunshot wound, with a firearm discovered beside him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators located a Port Authority Police Department identification card near his body, which he was later confirmed to be a retired PAPD officer.
Officers then entered a nearby apartment, where they discovered a 59-year-old woman, the shooter’s sister, with a gunshot wound to the head in a bedroom. Emergency responders pronounced her deceased at the scene.
An 86-year-old woman, who is believed to be their mother, was located with injuries and is in stable condition.
