NYPD were called to a shooting at 1629 Westchester Avenue in the Soundview section, at around 10:30 p.m. on Aug 7th.

On arrival police located a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released his identity.

Investigators are searching for a suspect, who was wearing dark clothing, black and red sneakers, and a black face mask. Anyone with information regarding the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
