According to Gothamist, 30-year-old Shakeema Davis died after an altercation at a barbecue she was hosting at Lincoln Terrace Park in Brooklyn shortly after midnight on August 18th.

Police said a man Davis knew arrived at the gathering, and a confrontation followed. The situation escalated, and Davis was seriously injured before the man fled the scene. Police said Davis’ attacker stabbed her after she refused to have sex with him. Her 7-year-old son and several other people were reportedly present.

Investigators have spoken with witnesses, obtained a photograph of the suspected attacker and identified a vehicle believed to have been used to leave the area. Police said no arrest had been made at the time of the report.
