A 41-year-old woman was found unconscious and later pronounced dead in New York City’s Highbridge Park, authorities said.
According to the NYPD, Doris Perez was discovered near Amsterdam Avenue and West 174th Street at approximately 9:20 a.m. Sources said Perez had a small puncture wound on her back.
Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. The city medical examiner has classified the death as a homicide, police said.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surroundingPerez’s death, and no arrests have been made.
