NYPD said a 31-year-old woman was found fatally stabbed inside her apartment in Far Rockaway, Queens, on October 1, while her boyfriend was later discovered on the ground after falling from the roof of the same building.
Police found Pheona Premraji inside the second-floor apartment on Neilson Street with multiple stab wounds. Investigators believe her 32-year-old boyfriend was involved in the killing. The weapon was reportedly found near her body.
Shortly after the stabbing, the man climbed to the roof of the seven-story building and appeared to threaten to jump. Witnesses said police and neighbors tried to persuade him to come down, but he eventually fell from the roof.
Officers found him seriously injured with wounds to his wrists, ankles and torso. He was taken to Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital in critical condition and remained hospitalized.
Neighbors also recalled frequent arguments between the pair and said police had been called to the apartment on previous occasions. Authorities reportedly have records of several domestic disputes involving the man, including incidents involving Premraji.
The investigation into her death remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced formal charges against the boyfriend.
